💥GAMECHANGER!💥 For years I struggled with h

💥GAMECHANGER!💥

For years I struggled with how to be organised and efficient taking care of my family’s and my own food/shopping needs. It always took too much time and energy and never quite went to plan. I was constantly doing top-up shops, constantly wondering what to cook, forgetting about lunches, and being bored by what I was eating. I tried the bulk cook ups and food prep method and I hated that too! (I don’t want to spend a whole day in the kitchen AND I don’t like reheated food)

In 2020, amidst the pandy, I found the magic formula and I’ve been following it ever since.

✅ A weekly meal plan which also accounts for lunches. It’s full of quick to make, super healthy meals and I cycle meals in and out rotation.
✅ One big weekly shop which I either do online with a local fresh food company + supermarket or just supermarket. And my list is so organized that it takes me 30 mins max. (We do also do a trip to the health food store once a week + a top up shop for milk, bread and fruit)
✅ I have my personal nutritional needs down pat after 12 months of experimenting and I know exactly what I need to have in the house to make sure I’m satisfied and happy (working at home), and it rarely involves reheating leftovers.

💡 FYI what you see in the video is for a week with two adults and a 6 year old. It’s a lot more when our older teen is home too.

This method makes my life easier in so many ways:
🥑 I never have to think about what to cook/make
🥑 It takes care of 4 ND humans with completely different dietary needs and tastes
🥑 It’s a predictable outlay of💰each week
🥑 I know exactly what we’re all eating and it’s HEALTHY

💥AND by prioritising EASE, I’m taking SUCH good care of myself which improves the quality of my life!💥

💥The little things make the biggest impact!

💡Here’s how and why I do this:

Every day, I check in on my calendar, my asana (where I organise my work and personal to do lists) and my email to make sure I stay on top of everything. I have two businesses and two kids, so there’s always a lot on, and I use these systems vigilantly so I don’t drop the ball.

The first thing I do each day is check to see what my capacity is. This is partly how many hours I have available that day, but also how I FEEL. How is my energy level? How is my mood? Am I able to do all that is being asked of me on this day? Once I’ve established this, I can confirm my goals for the day, and I can move/reorganise anything else that might be pending.

It’s not healthy to see overdue tasks popping up when you don’t have the capacity to do them. It will either make you feel more pressured/stressed or inadequate/incapable. And the truth is that your capacity on any given day is not related to how capable you are! A lot of us suffer from time blindness and have the tendency to overestimate how much we can do in a day. I want to normalise this! It doesn’t mean anything bad! But, it’s important that you acknowledge it and rearrange things as you need to because it reduces the mental load and makes our days so much easier.

I consider this habit of checking in and reorganising to be an act of self compassion and self love.

💝 I’m honouring my capacity (which is ever changing)
💝 I’m remembering the quality of my day is more important than my productivity
💝 I’m listening to my intuition and my body
💝 AND I’m still being a responsible human.
